Meet the Secretariat
The Secretariat is the nine-person team tasked with running the entire conference. From overseeing the hundreds of staff members to liaising with the thousands of delegates that attend the conference, it is their leadership that makes HNMUN the most well-run, prestigious Model UN conference in the world.
Andrew Young Jun Kim
Secretary-General
Andrew Young Jun Kim is a rising senior at Harvard College in Eliot House concentrating in Economics with a secondary in Sociology. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Andrew served as Assistant Director of the Human Rights Council at HNMUN 2019, Director of the South Korean Women’s Presidential Advisory Board at HNMUN 2020, and the Under-Secretary-General of Operations at HNMUN 2021. Outside of Model UN and IRC, Andrew is a member of Harvard’s Catholic Student Association and works part-time as a campus tour guide. He is incredibly honored to serve as Secretary-General and look forward to making the 68th Annual Session of HNMUN the best iteration of conference yet.

Matthew Dickey
Director-General
Matthew Dickey is a junior at Harvard College studying Molecular and Cellular Biology. Originally from Cohasset, Massachusetts, in addition to his academic pursuits, Matthew is an active member of the Harvard Varsity Sailing Team and has been largely involved with Model UN. Last year, he served as the USG of Business at HNMUN after having spent the previous two years as a Director and Assistant-Director of Business. He is incredibly honored to be presiding as the Director-General for HNMUN 2022!

Emily Meng
Under-Secretary-General of Administration
Emily Meng is a sophomore in Eliot House studying History and Science with a focus in Medicine & Society and a potential secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. Prior to becoming the USG of Admin at HNMUN, she was a Director of Administration and an Assistant Director for The Thing at HNMUN. At HMUN, she directed The Incan Empire and also served as an Assistant Director for the Press Corps. Outside of Model UN, she is involved with the Chinese Students' Association as well as the Radcliffe Choral Society, the treble chorus on campus. She is looking forward to another year of working with her staff to create a successful conference for all delegates.

Yanxi Fang
Under-Secretary-General of Finance
Yanxi Fang is a junior at Harvard College studying Government with a secondary in Economics. He first became involved with Harvard's international relations community as a writer for the Harvard International Review, where he is now a Senior Editor focusing on transportation and the global economy. Yanxi most recently served in the Administration organ at HNMUN 2021, and is thrilled to return as the Under-Secretary-General for Finance at HNMUN 2022. Outside of MUN, he is also a Co-Director of the Harvard Program for International Education, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Harvard International Relations Council. As someone who is relatively new to Model United Nations, he is particularly excited to welcome delegates who may be attending conference for the first time.

Heidi U. Lucas
Under-Secretary-General of the General Assembly
Heidi Lucas is a junior at Harvard College studying Government with a Secondary Field in Ethnicity, Migration, & Rights. Heidi is from the small town of Smiths Falls, in Ontario, Canada an hour away from Canada’s capital, Ottawa. Heidi was introduced to Model UN during her first year at Harvard as an Assistant Director within the Specialized Agencies of HNMUN 2020. During HNMUN 2021, she directed an Economic and Financial committee within the General Assembly on Indigenous Inuit Economies. Outside of Model UN, Heidi is a community chair for the Natives at Harvard College, though most of her time is dedicated to Harvard’s varsity rugby team. Heidi looks forwards to welcoming all delegates to HNMUN 2022!

Oscar Berry
Under-Secretary-General of the Specialized Agencies
Oscar Berry is a sophomore at Harvard College concentrating in History and studying economics and political science. He has a longstanding love for Model UN since his first experiences in Middle School. At Harvard, he is also involved with the traveling ICMUN competitive team, the Harvard International Review Magazine, and other political debate organizations. He is currently conducting research on global public pensions funds in the aftermath of the Covid pandemic and is fascinated by geopolitics and military history. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, dogs, and critiquing movies.”

Carlos Bejar-Garcia
Under-Secretary-General of Business
Carlos Bejar-Garcia is a rising junior at Harvard College in Lowell House concentrating in Economics. Originally from Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Carlos has loved Model UN since high school and joined the Business Organ at HNMUN in his freshman year, serving first as an Assistant Director for HNMUN 2020 and then a Director for HNMUN 2021. Outside of Model UN he is a staff writer for the Harvard International Review and a member of the Harvard University Band. Carlos is incredibly excited to be returning to the Business Organ for a third year and looks forward to bringing the spirit of innovation to the organ and conference!

Fatoumata Ouedrago
Under-Secretary-General of operations
Fatoumata Ouedrago is a sophomore at Harvard studying government; ethnicity, migration, and rights; and Spanish. She is very involved with MUN on campus: She has been an Assistant Director and Director at HMUN and HNMUN, as well as Co-Chief of Staff for Harvard’s MUN team, ICMUN. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors for the International Relations Council and as Under-Secretary-General for Operations at HNMUN. She looks forward to working on HNMUN 2022 and she cannot wait to meet all the HNMUN delegates. Outside of Model UN, she loves Mock Trial, poetry, and listening to music.

Jason Jorge
Under-Secretary-General of the Economic and Social Council & Regional Bodies
Jason Jorge is a sophomore in Winthrop House studying Astrophysics and Earth and Planetary Sciences. Before becoming the USG of ECOSOC/RB at HNMUN, he was a Director of the UNHRC at HNMUN 2021 and is looking forward to directing the Special Summit on Climate Change at HMUN China 2021. Outside of Model UN, he does research on the connection between climate change, agriculture, and food insecurity. He is looking forward to seeing you all at HNMUN 2022!
