Social Venture Challenge
Are you looking to make an impact in your community today but need funding and mentorship to turn an idea for impact into action?
Each year, HNMUN partners with the Resolution Project to host the Social Venture Challenge (SVC)! Pitch your social innovation or community solution at the SVC during HNMUN 2025! Winners receive a lifelong Fellowship that includes up to $5,000 USD in seed funding, dedicated mentorship, and access to a wide network of people and resources to help turn your idea for impact into action.
Resolution Project reviews applications and a select few will be invited to pitch their social venture on February 21-22, 2025 at HNMUN.
In order to compete in the Social Venture Challenge, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Individual/teams must be currently enrolled undergraduate HNMUN Delegates.
You must be a Founder(s) of the social venture. Teams can be as large as three eligible Founders. NOTE: If selected as a semifinalist, individual/team must be present and represent the venture live at both the Forum and Finals.
Your venture must be a new organization, program, or a major new initiative of an existing organization.
Your venture must not have received prior funding from an institution or organization. NOTE: Small scale crowdfunding and small-scale fundraising from Founders, family, and friends are acceptable.
The prize for the Social Venture Challenge winners include:
Seed Funding: A grant to kick-start your social venture, up to $5,000 USD.
Strong Advisory Support: Each team is assigned a pair of mentors called Guides, who provide mentorship ranging from social venture advice to professional development.
