A Letter from the Secretary-General:
Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,
On behalf of our Secretariat, it is with great pleasure that I invite you to the 71st Annual Session of Harvard National Model United Nations (HNMUN). We are thrilled to welcome you to the Boston Marriott Copley Place for our conference, which will take place from Thursday, February 20 to Sunday, February 23, 2025.
Declared by the New York Times as the “Superbowl of Model UN”, our conference prides itself on upholding the highest standards of debate and delegate experience as the oldest, largest, and most prestigious Model UN conference of its kind. Since our first iteration as the Harvard National Model League of Nations in 1927, over 2000 attendees from across the globe have convened in Boston to discuss the world’s most pressing issues each year. Over the conference, delegates learn to negotiate with others of differing opinions and collaborate with like-minded representatives. Together they create comprehensive policy frameworks and innovative programs on a wide array of topics.
That being said, the HNMUN experience extends further than the committee room. Throughout the conference, delegates have the opportunity to engage with a diverse, international community to foster friendships and memories that will last far beyond our four days together. Staffed every year by over 150 undergraduates from Harvard College, HNMUN remains committed to ensuring a meaningful and enriching experience for all delegates.
Through our numerous General Assemblies, Economic and Social Councils and Specialized Bodies, and Crisis Committees, delegates will have access to a broad range of committee forms and topics. From these expansive options, all delegates will find a committee that fits their interests and matches their preferred style of debate.
To join HNMUN 2025, you can submit an application as a part of our registration timeline. Before registering, I strongly encourage perusing our website to learn more about the conference. This website contains information about the Secretariat, registration deadlines and fees, conference policies, and committees. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team at info@hnmun.org.
The Secretariat and I are incredibly excited to welcome you all to HNMUN 2025 in Boston this coming February!
Sincerely,
Vivian Yee
